Long story but have great respect for the 4l60e for what I do and want to know if you can bolt a Borg warner 13-54 transfer case to it with the front drive shaft on the passenger side. Spoke to Auto transmission guys who are non-committal and say "Go for it", as in, "find out for yourself". Realize they have a lot of knowledge and probably do want to give it away for free, but if i can confirm then I will get the 4l60e "strengthened" ie new shafts additional clutches. Does anyone know?

No its a long story got 4 vts and 2 VKs but have been given a Ford Exploder. Motor has been rebuilt but gearbox is knackered. Just looking at options as the 3.8 V6 with 4l60e, based on measurements will fit but its the transfer case that I need to establish if it bolts up

Take a look at the Ford AWD system. Ford Territory would be a good start.

Remove the tail housing from the 4l60e first, and then compare spline count and shaft size to the drive gear on the transfer case.
Surely almost anything can be made to work with some correct engineering.

My truck is running a jatco 4n71b into a series 3 land-rover transfer case. (Someone before me was crazy enough to set that up. But seems to operate fine)

Probably best to do a search in the US, they put the 4l60e in a heap of things there so surely there must be something that had both (4l60e and 4wd).

Blazer maybe?
Actually any number of Chevy trucks.
4l60e with transfer box isn't actually too uncommon at all.

Didn’t Holden Colorado come with 4L60e?
