I just came to add one more thing, if your buying a VT you dont want the 5 liter, the car is too heavy with that motor in it. To get on a closer to even playing field the 5 liter needs to be in a VN or so so it doesn't have to drag around so much weight

But I've seen 215i's in the VS. The VS still ran the 5L.

Pretty sure it was the "old" 304 that was stroked to 350. Harrop crankshafts from memory. The engine itself looked the same as any other EFI Holden V8 externally.

Somebody did mention sound though - Anybody check the sound of a *STOCK* exhaust on the 5 litre??? (Hint: There are very few of them around any more).
Yep, my wife's VS stato still has a stock exhaust. Has a nice rumble to it, no droning at all.

There's 3 things my wife gives me grief about when comparing her car (which is actually my old car) to my current WH:

1) Exhaust - WH is way too quiet.
2) Leather - she hates it, but I can never go back to velour.
3) The horn - I'll give her that one, it's embarrassing when I use it.

Did the later holden V8 still have the camshafts made by Kraft cheese :D , they used to be that soft that the lumps would wear off them back in the 70's.
Still like them though, but a Gen 3 would be my choice (the resale prices reflect that it is most people's choice also).

So you bought an outdated engine for what obvious reasons? Did you even post any lol?

There is 4 reasons, need more?

Sorry, but that for me isnt obvious, that is just likings.

People say the gen3 is new, what about all the years it spent in the US etc? Just because something hasn't been around for 20+ years it doesntt mean it isnt as good, i mean, in 10 years holden made the 5.0 go from 165kw to 190 kw(disregarding HSV's) theres some major development right there.

Sorry if i offended you but i failed to see any real reason on why you would buy something that is dated. Just my 2 cents bud.

I didnt think there was such a thing as a VS GTR Clubsport with a 5.7. Are you sure its not the GTS-R or GTS?
