Myself and the missus managed to get tomorrow off, and would like to go for a decent/scenic drive for the day, pack some lunch and all that **** and do abit of exploring.

I'm after peoples suggestions on a good drive/destination to visit.

I'm based out west of town, and we don't wana drive to the murray or anything, just an hour or two drive. Been looking on google maps for somewhere, came across "Lerderberg state park". Anybody been out here before? a nice destination?

Or welcome to any suggestions ;)

Cheers, Troy

why dont you cruise through town and head out the east side, head out towards warburton area, then maybe down to olinda. beautiful spot, great drive once you leave the city.

ye... 1.5-2 hours to get to the great ocean road, then hours of cruising down there, then have to drive all the way home, #### that, like i said, would rather spend a couple of night down there if i head that way.

why post.

Ye we did Skyhigh and Olinda falls not too long ago, it is nice out there, though dont wana do what we have already done. anything else that way? was thinking more yarra valley/healsville way, but ye without having been there, could be a waste of time..

heaps more out there, yarra glen way is nice, the drive out to warburton is great and you get to see a part of the yarra that actually looks good.
Heallesville is a nice drive, the town itself is not bad either, and if you have the family you could always take em to the sanctuary. if your going that way, i would go north via kinglake, the highway up the mountain is amazing, lots of curves and great views it's a real drivers drive, great national park with lots of picnic areas, nice town to stop in too, then head south to yarra glen, stop in at Balgownie estate for a glass of shiraz, then cruise across to heallesville. for the trip home, head south to woori yallock, west through seville and lilydale and from there through ringwood to where ever you live.

thinking i might have to take the SS for a spin now, got me thinking
