To anybody contemplating purchasing a new starter motor at what seems a great price, think twice! Mine lasted 32 days till the pinion gear disintegrated, even though they offer a replacement warranty the 4 or 5 day lay time just isn't worth the hassle. Fact is it will always happen before a public holiday or a Sunday afternoon nowhere near home.

This is how they keep making money, even if you are not going to use it, change it over.

I work in the automotive trade and we are CONSTANTLY having people whinge about prices of NEW Starters and Alternators.
You'd be surprised the amount of people who still want cheap stuff instead of the quality. No matter how much you advise them.
I reckon it'd either be a JAS, Cooldrive or Unipoint brand.
