i prob wouldnt do it to solve a changing issue as the shifters being shorter throw and with the use of springs tend to make the downshifts harder 3-2 so pretty much u can rip 1-2 the the 2-3 is just rest it in your palm and just push up and it will spring over to 3rd then the 3-4 is nothing and 4-5 is good, then the 5-4 is easy and 3-4 easy, but just cruising round the street the 3-2 takes some effort as ur going against the spring where stock is just easy nothing, the bottom boot still on the stock shifter i put over the MGW to quieten in down, if u just want to good shifter id get the MGW but if u want to test to see if it helps ur shifting just get the cheaper CUBE one ive herd good reviews on both

Thanks a lot, any idea on where I would get the bushes that CUBE recommended that I change at the same time?

Installed several shifter over time and the ripshifter is the best I've found for feel etc.

I had a VY yrs ago that was a dog to change gears and the rip made the car so much more enjoyable.

you can get the larger bush, for the rear part of shifter from superpro, pedders, nolethane, whiteline, the selector bush's either genuine-made-or sothing available from aftermarket (superpro etc one that fits but might not be for the car) you could also try https://malwoodauto.com.au/
he is a tremec specialist, he has lots of different shifters, even a hurst short throw for the VE
