Hi Guys,

I was reading an article on smh about the recent export of the commodore to the states (pontiac G8), I did notice the specs for the car included AFM which de-activates 4 cyclinders when its cruising.

I was wondering considering its the same engine (l98), could the appropriate hardware and software be added to an existing VE to enable this function?

What do we think?

Thanks

David

The Pontiac G8 is not running the L98. It's still got the L76 with DoD enabled.

Interesting... The L98 is not compatible with DoD technology.

Not sure which engine they where referring to, just that they where bragging about having DoD on the V8 in their 60th Anniversary Ad campaign.

Sorry my bad I was under the impression the G8 had the l98:embarrass

Anyway does anyone think DoD is worth it???? I have heard particulary on the 300C owners dont see a difference in fuel economy

Thats cause the 300c uses mass amounts of fuel anyway :p

DOD could be worth it, but I dont personally think the technology has been perfected yet which is perhaps why Holden hasn't run it.

I believe the ad maybe referring the VE sport-wagon which has a V8 with DOD
