I have a series 1 Vn. I bought the whole lot to convert my car to the separate coil packs.
You need the DFI and the coil packs to do the conversion. Car runs fine.
But try to go to the wreckers or even the Just Commodores Shop, they sell them for about $250 for the DFI and coils. I bought mine from ebay. I rang my Holden dealer in town and got quoted $380 for DFI and $71 each for the coils. So I wasn't going there.

But I do some modifications to the bracket the dfi coil packs sit on. To bolt the new dfi coil packs on.
Unless you can find s series II or VP engine at the wreckers with the bracket still on.

Also Airstrike, did you notice any difference with the MSD coils? Like smoother aceleration, any more sting?

The reason Holden and JC shop are more expensive is that they are new products.
In the above post you will see I said it was put into a mates car.

Yep but JC Shop is much cheaper for their new coils then Holden themselves.
