Hey guys, I have a Holden Commodore V6 Wagon 2001.

I'm in desperate need of help, when I try to start my car I have noticed there is a lot of air flow going into the air intake to the throttle body and then shuts off and I mean I put my hand over it and it feels like my hand is going to get sucked into it.

Im in desperate need of help can anyone give me any ideas on what's going on.

I'm very confused by your description since you have not identified a problem:

1. Are you having problems with the car either not starting, or starting then stalling.
2. Airflow into the throttle body is normal and if you place your hand over it there is a good chance that the engine will stall.

Every time I try to start it, it sounds like it is sucking in so much air and then blows straight back. it wants to start but it shuts off straight way

Forget the air, unless you have disconnect the maf sensor or have the airbox off.

What was done recently? Did you change plugs, give it a service.
Did you buy it like this.
When did it start happening?

I bought it from marketplace and the bloke I bought it off didn’t have the keys so I changed the barrel and key and a key fob and I gave it a service like spark plugs, oil filter, fuel filter and starter motor.

Ok start with:
  • Check your codes to see if it's logged something.
  • Check leads are securely connected at both ends and that they are going to thr correct cylinder
  • Ensure all plugs are connected to throttlebody, maf, injectors, and sensors. At worst unplug and re-plug them in again.
  • Check dfi main loom.
  • Check vacuum hose connections for leaks or cracks
Hopefully that should get you going in the right direction
