Aircon recirculation problem

Hey guys, back again with another issue, when sitting at the lights with the aircon on, misses reckons she could smell exhaust fumes from other vehicles.
There doesn't seem to be any recirculate button on the a/c, only button I can see is the 3 arrows going around in a circle, when i put this mode on air only comes out of the windscreen demisters.
So my question would be, is this car capable of having a recirculation mode?

Is the 3 arrows in a circle the recirculation mode?

Is it normal to just come out of the of the windscreen demisters when is recirculation mode?

Is there something wrong with the ac in my car?

Sorry for the long story, it's just I have a 9 month old son who is in the car and I can't have a car that let's exhaust fumes into the cab.

It’s the round circle.
Turn the dial around to that and let a huge fart go.

Air should come out the face vents.

If it’s coming out the demister vents, one of the vacuum actuators is likely to be rooted.

That can be a big job on a VT-VZ. Dash out to expose the HVAC. Some can be reached without doing that.

Also possible there is a leak in the manual hvac manifold behind the dials. Yours are cosmeticly rooted by the look.

A vacuum leak could also explain the exhaust type smell in the cab.

Thanks heaps for the reply brus, I been driving the car with the aircon on that 3 arrows, and one day it just changed to coming out of the face vents but it still seems to be sucking fumes into the car, I'll have to take it to an ac mechanic when I get the money. See what they reckon.

It won’t require an ac person.
I shudder to think how much it will cost. It’s not related to the gas in the ac. It’s the servos that change the settings.

They can be hard to reach but if you do it, it’s affordable.
