Hi All,

After some help/info with alarm and immobiliser.

My only key i had for the car went missing, searched high and low but it was no where to be found. I brought a new lock and key set (ignition barrel, door lock and key) and a new remote/fob off ebay.

Had to break into the car to gain access and to be able to replace the locks, all locks are installed and tried to program the new key (Using a snap on scanner) but the key wont program and the alarm goes off each time i open the door(have disconnected the alarm so its not noisey) and the red padlock light flashes on the dash.

Do i need to shut the alarm and immobiliser off before the key will program? Or should it just do it anyway? After any help or guidance to get the car going again.

Firstly, not Having a spare key is a mistake,

Secondly, you find it hard to find someone to tell you to disable the VAT’s,

It possibly would have been better to get the Key Code, and pay for a key to be cut to code,
Then programmed in,

That’s said, you need a decent scanner that will program it in.
There is a procedure that is required for the same.

The other option is to purchase a after market Key head,
Fit the key blade,
Then get it programmed in.
