ALDL to usb cable

Hi, can anyone help me find an aldl to usb cable or adaptor for our vn commodore. The only ones i have managed to find do not state they are suitable for the VN

There's no real point in using anything needing a connection to a laptop etc on a VN/VP, although such cables were around 15-20 years ago. Most people find the inbuilt GMH check engine light ALDL diagnostic system to be as good as it gets.

What about the Envyous Customs cable and software. They work great on VR. I just can't remember if it works on VP and VN.

VN/VP use a different plug and won't work with the later style OBD2 plugs used from VR onward.

Here's a really old post I partially saved from JC years ago on making an ALDL to RS232 cable. With modern computers you would need to add a USB to RS 232 adapter. If you can find the old post someone may have updated it to include a USB connection.

This. The flash system will give you everything you need for diags without needing an engineering and computer science background. Getting RS232 to work on Windows 10 is an arse pain
