This is funny reading a 10+ year old post long before Covid.

People comparing the 3.8 and Alloytec.
You forget the Buick 3.8 was pushrod operated valves.

The Alloytec is designed to be a high revving engine being DOHC. Plus the cam phasers are set to operate around 2500/3000 so that's where you notice your increase in power.

It can be changed in tuning to come in at lower rpm.

As for the gearbox and clutch. I've an exedy HD clutch with SMF.
On the dyno it showed 600nm@3500.
So far so good with 320,000 on the odometer in Dec 2021

Nah mate NA with manifold spacers, don't recall what size but the biggest ones. 25 or 28mm.
Only going off the dyno figures anyway not sure how accurate they are.

I do know in that region of rpm I'll spin the rears in 2nd in the wet without much effort.

I leave the pussy button turned on these days
Used to turn off TC all the time, now I'm old and wise it'll remain on in the wet

Nice mate I highly doubt that torque figure is accurate, my ve 6 litre which has the usual Otr, headers full exhaust and tune doesn’t make that much torque
