are the alternators from the v6 same as the 5L through the vt's?

I'm assuming you're talking about the EFI 304? If so I believe they are. Should be 85amp from memory.

Yes, pulleys are different - the V8 has 3 separate v-belts for the water pump/alternator, power steering and aircon compressor.
