Ammount of oil!?

Pardon my ignorance, I've searched for ages but cant seem to find a straight answer!

For a 3.8 Ecotec VT Commodore II, the guys at Autobarn said I would need 5.5L for oil is that correct?
forums seem to be saying 4.3 :blah blah: please help !?

the vt's take 4.8 litres but you can comfortably put the whole 5 litres in those guys that work autobarn are dumb asses. how many k's are on the clock if you don't mind me asking.

Your books give you the correct amount, plus lots of other stuff.

Given that most oil is in a 5L bottle, he just wanted you to buy more

Max Ellery service book says 4.0 litres without the filter and 4.3 litres with.

I just did mine this arvo and I can confirm that the book is right.
