Any advantage

Hi guys,just wanted to ask how much work is involved in taking off the throttle body injection and replacing it with a carby set up and what would be the advantages/disadvantages,if any. All sensible input appreciated.

Disadvantages, very costly, illegal, and more than likely would lose power.

I assume you mean a Holden V8?? Check out Dems Clubbie thread in the VR section, she has done it of hers.

Advantages : cool factor, nothing quite like an air cleaner sitting on top of the valley of a V8 (unless its an 8itb set up wink wink)

Disadvantages : depends where you live but if modifying you car is a problem with the cops is an issue, hard to hide it as soon as the lift the bonnet. More stuffing around to make it all work.

Performance potential ; I reckon that's a 6 or 2 threes deal, most induction set ups can be made to work well if you make other changes like cam etc to suit it.

Tbi, good if you want to put injection on an earlier carby engine, less stuffing about.

No real advantage, having the injectors where they are stock gets a beter air fuel mix, petrol doesn't stay suspended in air very well this is more of an advantage for mixture and running.
