You can't add a tape unit to the VX eurovox HU.. as its only a single CD stereo.. i had a Tape connector for my old VS.. and it worked a treat, as well as it had a AUX in port... (which they should of done for the VT/VX also).

they only connections available are:
1. go through via the antenna (Jaycar has a device for this)
2. Use an FM modulator.. (sound quality ordinary)
3. or use the Denison Link Ipod connector or similar.
4. buy a Kenwood or ALpine stereo (with ipod capabilities) and loose steering wheel controls.

it sux not having a $2 aux in socket put into the HU.

My VX doesn't even have a tape player.

I think I've been jipped.

No VX came standard with a tape player, all were with CD standard.

I know on the VT, they have a cd input connection where you can plug you ipod in with the right cable (ie a headphone cable with a male connection on both ends).

haha.. seriosly.. those eurovox stereos are crap.

here's an idea.. take it out.. sell it on ebay.. people are still paying 300 bucks for the ones with CD players.. I got no idea why.

Take that 300 bucks down to say JB and guy a good 50X4 head unit with RCA input or ipod plug and whalla.. costs you nothing.

Talk to phreddy... he is the man.

He can hook you up with a 3.5mm custom aux input, builds the extra circuit boards himself. It is the best way to do it and you can keep your stock HU.

I've got a 3.5mm cd input in my VS, the only thing i find on my ipod nano is that you will hit the limit of the ipod sound quality if you want to go real loud.. the nano may be less gutsy, i don't know, but it's worth keeping an eye out for it.

Yeah my 2002 VXII Lumina has both CD and tape as standard. Think I'll be off to Tandy for a $30 tape connector. Tried a $10 one once in a Ford, it was hopeless. Are any brands of these things better than others?

My SS SII has build date Nov 2001. Considering that it's a more expensive model than some of the others mentioned above, I'm kind of surprised that it has a more basic unit than you guys that got both.

I wonder if it may have been an optional extra or something.
