anyone else all find all the Melbourne cup fuss BORING?

last night, all over the tv
turn Sunrise on this morning, 90% of the news was Melbourne cup and/or royals

news on tonight, Melbourne cup
current affairs shows, Melbourne cup
And this will go on for the next week or 2 with all the follow up races and womens days or whatever crap they do

All this fuss for a horse race that goes for about 5 minutes......
I don't get it...

at my old job they made you pay 5 bucks into a sweep, then pretty much made u watch you lose your money.



i agree with you darren. i have no interest in horse racing or gimmicks it brings. id rather get blind drunk at the strippers and throw money away there.

Channels get to fill news time with it.
Flemington race grounds sells alot of boose.

The list goes on all for money.

I didn't watch it, I don't care, I got a day off, I don't even know who won.

I don't see how it's any different to the AFL/NRL finals, etc.
I guess it comes down to if you enjoy the horses or not.
