A buddy and I are aquiring a few Vl 6's for our kids and parts etc.
Our latest purchase has a nicely rebuilt head, the vehicle itself is
alright and needs just a little tlc.

We want to start the motor to check it out as impatient people do,
but the previous owners have pulled the auto out and dropped a
manual in.

The auto shifter positioner has been left connected to the vehicle,
eg P R D 3 2 1. The vehicle will turn when we leave the sensor arm in neutral
but it wont allow spark off the coil, which we changed to see if faulty,
but the spare did the same.

Is there a vaccuum control somewhere or some other thing
that is stopping us from getting spark ?

Any help would be great

just next to the battery there is a relay... with 2 big purple wires.. if you cut and join them that will allow it to start anytime..

just bypassing the nuetral switch..

as for spark i cant see that effecting it in any way
