VE SS Ute Manual 2009
Hi all

I have recently purchased a 2009 Ve ss and noticed today that these is no plate to protect the underside of the engine..Is this normal? or should there be a metal plate

Thanks

No that’s quite normal to have no metal bash plates on normal road cars!

It’s possible you’re missing the plastic air dam underneath the front though?

VE SS Ute Manual 2009
Hi mike_nofx

Many thanks for your reply..There is the plastic air dam part towards the front but nothing under the engine..To me the oil filter looks a bit vulnerable and could easily get damaged resulting in a damaged engine..Is this Holdens ploy?..My old Vy ss had a nice metal bash plate protecting all of this.

Thanks again

Your VY may have been ex cop car.
Some country cars had them.
My VZ wagon does not have one, ex telstra, but the VZ ex cop sedan does, both 6 cylinder cars. I recon they are a pain when it comes to draining the oil.
