I shall make getting distilled water my number 1 priority then!

check the battery before you buy any, not all batteries are able to be topped up.

Any suggestions of batteries with 2-3 year warranty? I've just had a loop at the deep cycles on Supercheap but they only come with 12 months..

Don't use a deep cycle battery for starting the car.
Unlike a normal battery which is able to provide a great amount of current instantly.
Deep cycle batteries provide high current over a long period, but don't give that instant power (cold cranking ability) required to start the car.
They also take longer to re charge, depending on the battery's capacity.
