ive had battery drainage problems with my 2012ve thunder, the ute would struggle to start every day. took it to an auto sparky he found 1 amp draining off the battery whilst the ute was turned off, he removed the fuse for the a/c / radio component and the battery hasn't had and problems since. anyone had this problem that knows what exactly is the cause ?

do your doors lock and unlock correctly
a faulty drivers door actuator will prevent the car "going to sleep" correctly

Hummm, his radio,a/c component was the cause, not the door parts..

The cause for it would be an internal issue with the a/c,radio...My money would be the radio side of things if VE's are like VY's...My VY radio was causing my battery drain

As @lout stated, if the driver's door lock actuator doesn't signal the BCM when locked, nothing in the 'center stack' will shut down completely.

I am mearly quoting what the op wrote....So without being scarcastic, perhaps have a little read of what the op wrote was the cause of his battery drain.... :)

I did! He quoted that with the car turned off, he was getting a 1 amp drain from the from the radio/HVAC system, which will happen if the entire system doesn't 'go to sleep'.

Quote "for the a/c / radio component" ...I personally read that as the air con system and radio..... And yes it does seem strange to me :)

commodore bcm will supply standby power to a lot of circuits
most noticeable is the infotainment system
this has been a very common problem to ve
holden had a software patch which helped a lot
but if the switch in the drivers door is faulty the bcm will supply standby power to the infotainment system
that is assuming the auto elec waited for the car to go to sleep
which from memory is 10 minutes after locking drivers door

The doors are fine it was just the air con and the radio I’ve found that have never worked satisfactory overtime. But recently the car started dying suddenly and fret not driving it for 12 hours and the auto sparky said it’s the aircon/radio module. Holden will have to probably just run a diagnostics test to work out exactly what it is

i have learnt never to say never with cars
however without digging out a wiring diagram,
the bcm should be turning off the relay that powers the infotainment system
only the memory circuit should be powered
at night time ,open your glovebox and lock car go back in half hour and see if glovebox light has gone out
