My favs are:

Master of Puppets

Ride the Lightning

And Justice for All

S&M (purely because it has a bit of everything and sounds FANTASTIC with the symphony behind it blasted over a HUGE sound system sounds amazing. Not the biggest fan of anything past the "Black" album.

There was a limited edition picture LP, had the ...and justice for all cover on one side and demos and b-sides on the other. There was also garage days revisited and there was also creeping death/jump in the fire.

In my opinion (I've been listening to metallica for 25 yrs, and do have EVERY album,single, vhs and dvd) is that anything newer than master of puppets is butt monkey poo.

All their albums have highs and lows but for me Justice is a stand out. It's the first time their sound wasn't so studio focused and they really showed off their structure and rythm building chops.........
