Best option for spare key?

Hi guys, how did you go getting spare keys I'm after one for Ve omega have seen some on Ebay for sale has anyone tried them.

I did not have to end up getting one cut - the wife found her keys so mine is still a spare.

Check what you are getting on ebay is a full key since the VE key comes in two parts, the flip key part and then the immobiliser section on the back. The ones on ebay were usually just the flip key and are more expensive than Holmart.

You can program the flip key yourself as long as you have the other key as per an earlier post. Programming the immobiliser looks to be only available at the dealer or specialist locksmiths.

Cheapest I found was $250 for the lot while the dealer wanted over $300.

You cant remove the key whilst the car is running....

Who said leave it running ? Remove key = turn anticlockwise then pull out

the car would be OFF :p

300 bucks for a key :S that would buy a whole perfectly good VN and you would probably get a spare key with it:! ):)
