best way to clean your engine

what are peoples methods of cleaning your engine? also are there things that you cant get wet etc. cheers

I dunno, I just degrease and hose.

Then after it's dry or most of the waters gone I wipe everything over with a rag..

so u just spray it with engine cleaning stuff then hose it off.. sounds ezy

i normally keep my engine running, degreese then high pressure clean mine all while the engine is running

so u can wet everything while the engine is goin, sory if i sound stupid i dont no much about this stuff. i can see how it would work better wen its goin

well i detail cars at holden and i clean my vs engine while its running and i have not had a problem alot of other guys do the same thing i once cleaned my engine with it turned off and had a few probs when i started it water must have gotton in somewhere like a sensor or something like that

p.s we also use a air gun to dry around the coil pack, fuses, relays etc etc

if your picky and want to be thorough then go the toothbrushes....
get like a bulk pack from coles, etc.

i am yet to do it but the tool next door spends min 2 hours a month cleaning his engine

yeah toothbrush seems like it would take a while, but yeah i see what ur sayin, just a spray will b good tanks for ur input.
