Hi,

I wish to make some big bass with a small budget. All I need is a monoblock, subs and a box.

This is what I have so far:

2100rms @ 1ohm amp BRZ2100.1D $300
2 x Earthquake DBXI-15D (750rms each 4ohm DVC) $600
Shipping for subs and amp $150

Box (MDF will probally need 0.75 inch no idea on price) $200?

I was thinking separate sealed boxes 2.5cubic feet each.

I would like a sealed box, It's for my VY wagon. Can anyone comment on this and/or recommend a better solution.

Also I hope 4 gauge wire will cut it :p I just put that bitch it.

Thank you.

yeah go 0gauge for your power supply. Couple things you whould think about getting if you want your bass to sound good.
I would get a capacitor to keep the power to your amp. and i would be sound deadening the entire rear of your vehicle so that your car doesn't sound like a giant rattle.
And if your going to be using your system a lot i would be getting a dry cell battery too.

second hand is a better option.

Also, rather than upgrading to 0ga cable, just add a second, rear battery ;) even a normal lead acid battery will be ok.

Fire insurance aye?? That sounds like a good idea! My wagon is insured for $12500, I could go back and buy a VS again, that beast will be pumping with a $10k system lol.

0 gauge.. I was afraid of that. Would it be better if I add a 2nd battery in the boot running of the 4 gauge? then 0 gauge to the distro block 4/2 gauge to the amps?

Also what do you guys think about value for money, is it a good price for this gear? can someone recommend better?

Mad, thank you!

I'm not a fan of 2nd hand I have always bought brand new.

Mad, thank you!

I'm not a fan of 2nd hand I have always bought brand new.

The setup in my Aristo was:
$500 worth of second hand amps,
$160 worth of blemished batteries,
$188 for two new subs plus $52 for two of the same subs second hand,
$120 worth of NEW 0ga cable
$100 worth of MDF

$1120? And was the loudest sedan in SA ;)

I wouldn't spend anywhere near that much on subs, its just not worth it.... spend twice as much on amps, and half as much on subs...
You're still better off buying better second hand gear, than cheap new gear..

Pioneer 305c subs, bought the two brand new early 2005, the other two I won on ebay.

Amps are two ReSponse 1500 monoblocks.

You'll generally be better off with cheaper subs off more power, than expensive subs off less power. If you're working on a budget.
