blue dash conversion help

hey guys, just wondering a little question, ive been wanting to to the blue dash conversion for a while, and i would have no problems doing it, but is it possible to instead of soldering resistors and leds, can you simply rub the green paint away with alcohol and then paint blue where the green goes? in my instrument cluster, the lights are the clear type, not the ones with the green cases, so yea is it possible? if so, what sort of paint would you use?

i just think it would be a hell of a lot easier to be painting the blue instead of installing leds. any help appreciated

it would turn out better if you had blue LEDs then just painting over a bulb.

blue LED's are the way to go

lol na not painting over the bulb, but painting over the actual face plate where the green backing is. so instead of green backing, it would be blue and red backing

just get the blue bulbs off ebay,
