Brake caliper has came off the other night driving on the highway. Upon inspection the two bolts holding it have gone missing, and would explain the noise I've been hearing which I thought was something rolling around in my boot or something with my speaker.

Is it at as simple as getting new bolts from a wrecker and pads and putting it back over the disc?

Has any brake fluid leaked past the piston?

I'd be rebuilding the caliper and popping some new seals in, the piston moving out further than normal is likely to damage the seals. Also, you'll need to bleed the system.

Yep, new seal kit for sure, that piston has come right out and the dust boot is out of it's groove, your inner seal has been compromised.

Pay an expert. If you are asking, it's too dangerous to do it yourself.

who ever did your breaks! dont let them do it again! even if it was yourself.

i have never heard of a caliper just falling off because they dont. someone did not do the bolts up.
you dont need loctite on the bolts but you can use it if you like.
been doing breaks for 15 years myself, never have i had a caliper or bolt just fall off.
im thinking these bolts were just not tightened.

as for bleeding breaks if you have an ABS module you should vacuum bleed them.
i actually get a shop to bleed mine now as i dont have a vac pump for bleeeding breaks.
