That's interesting that those mods would give an extra 10 to 15. I have a memcal on its way and Pacemakers that just need a clean up and repaint. Bloss if you get headers go for Pacies. From the looks of them they look a really good extractors compared to some i have seen. I'm pretty sure they are tuned length and the tubes are nice and long. Apparently twin cats are the go. I have a bench seat that i want to keep or i would consider fitting buckets and relocating the handbrake and fitting twin cats.
Thanks buddy. I'm trying to decide between the Raptor supercharger or a cai, extractors, high flow cat & catback exhaust. I'm happy with even just 180-185kw at the flywheel.

Yeah I won't get 15 then. Mine has done 200k. Doesn't use much oil maybe 500 - 600 every 10k.

Reckon if you went super charger you would be best to get Pacies and decent exhaust. Memcal tune is a given and is only 150 bucks, so money well spent IMHO.

My memcal should be going in this week. I will report back on how it feels afterwards. I could have it dynoed but don't really want to spend the money at the moment. I might have it dynoed next year once i get the CAI fitted.

You won't get 180kw with just basic bolt-on mods like exhaust and intake. Stock VR V6 is about 130kw and the later model ecotec is 147/152kw depending on exactly which model it comes in.

Another consideration is how you use that power, a diff ratio change and/or (a small) stall converter will help make much better use of the power you have. TBH, these days I am off the belief that Holden screwed the pootch when it came to gearing the V6 models (based on a 100km/h speed limit). There are plenty of users with upgraded diff ratio's (anywhere from 3.45 to 3.73) who have seen improvements in fuel economy even though the engine is turning at a slightly higher rpm for a given road speed

10-15 would be the good end depending on the engine condition, considerably less if it's a flogged beast.

If I got say 8-9 given my engine has done 200k, would it be very noticeable without putting it on the dyno?

Another question does fitting extractors improve fuel economy like they claim it does?

You probably won't notice more peak power, but you'll likely notice its more responsive (sensitive to small throttle movements).

Can confirm this one! I not long ago threw in 3.45s in my VS ute (L67) and at 105kph, engine is turning at 2100rpm, average on the highway is between 7.8-8.2l/100ks, havent done a trip longer than about 150ks in one trip but I know it would happily be toward the lower end of the scale.
