You would buy it? So you reckon this is all low end stuff?
Got quoted $1178.95 all built.
Mainly net, dvds, music and general stuff. wanted something reasonably quick and this what was quoted.

$ 89 - Case
$289 - Intel Core Duo 3ghz
$199 - Mainboard - Asus P5Q supports 8 GB RAM
$125 - Asus Radeon 2400 PCIE
$129 - Memory Apace 2GB DDR2
$ 79 - Western Digital 160GB Hard Drive
$ 39.95 - Card Reader 16 IN 1
$ 59 - LG 20x DVD Dual Layer Burner
$170 - Labour

wow thats expensive, save the $170 labour and build it yourself, its not that hard. :)

Then again my next computer is priced at $2500 for the box alone lol

Nick: where did you get the pricing from? Have you tried MSY technology?

C.

That Computer Bloke on Park Terrace in Salisbury. Yeah I've been there but not with these specs, might go back and see what they can do for the same products.

Yeah i'm not too confident in building that stuff. $2500.......I'd love to spend that on a whole computer. $1000 was sort of my limit.

So this set up should only cost about $500-$600 then?

Case - 40 +
Intel Core Duo 3ghz - Need more specs
Mainboard - Asus P5Q supports 8 GB RAM - 155
Asus Radeon 2400 PCIE - 25
Memory Apace 2GB DDR2 - Apache is cheap crap and unavailable to me but min is 47 for 2gb 800
Western Digital 160GB Hard Drive - 53
Card Reader 16 IN 1 - 15-20 bux normally
LG 20x DVD Dual Layer Burner - 25

Also that motherboard seems to be massive overkill for the system.

So do those specs sound good? Cos if they are I might use that as a base for quotes. That way I can compare apples with apples.
