my abs computer at the front of the hydraulic system needs replacing and my fuel gage won’t read fuel level which caused me to run out on the road last night. just put a new pump in it, could the computer cause the gage to not read the fuel level

No, but if there was some sort of mechanical damage to the loom common to both could be a culprit.

The fuel level sender unit is attached to the fuel pump housing, maybe something didn't go back correctly there?
