Bypass immobilizer

Has anyone successfully bypassed an immobilizer on a vr? If so, how? Mine is playing up and i just want to bypass the damned thing. If i install a memcal without vats, will this definitely do it?

I had a key to turn it off on mine, it was in the passengers front door pillar above the door hinge.
