Calais Tail Lights on SV6 thoughts?

just wondering what people think about upgrading the stovck sv6 rear tail lights to the tinted ones or to the calais tinted ones, also want to know if its an easy swap to change them over. People have told me the tinted tail lights are illegal? can someone please clarify.

I've heard you need the rear bar as well because the Calais lights are a bit bigger.

you need the calais rear bumper to use the calais lights. would be better dropping the SSV tailights on and they bolt right on with no problems. and look better with a little tint on them.
