A good way to get everyone involved would be to remove the post count from the post details and replace it with join date. It'll stop needless posts by those looking for a higher count, of which means sh!t.
If someone with 500+ posts makes a comment, newer users might see this as the final say and have nothing to contribute. It 'may' encourage new users to make a comment without feeling like they've walked in as a stranger.
If lurkers are reading this thread and you're interested in anything technical make a post. It's sad that our pub/jokes threads often have more participation.
Another quick sook, is about users who are happy to be helped with their own problem. Then don't seem to have the modivation to help others when a similar problem pops up....
