Hi Guys, just wanting to know if the camshafts from an sv6 engine are able to go on an omega engine?
I also want to change the air intake manifold to the sv6 air intake manifold

Both engines are series 1 alloytec

Are they both sidi?
And I'm pretty sure the sidi 3.6 series 1 motor has some sort of electronic cam?

If you're changing your cams you may as well upgrade, give MACE engineering a call. You'll see some awesome gains.

Mtw002, series 1 2007 ve commodore engines weren't sidi, the omega was a 3.6 litre 170kw engine, the sv6 was a 3.6 litre 190kw

Sv6guy, i was contemplating that, but i'm doing it all myself to keep costs down, was just seeing if the 2 camshaft systems were compatible with each other

Surely the compliance plate on the car would tell you the engine code?

I thought omega (& Berlina) and SV6 (& Calais) had different heads thus the 15 or so kW difference, (across all VE V6's ie S1 and S2, non-SIDI and SIDI). The difference was omega was 3 port and SV6 was 4 port per cylinder (DOHC with VVT). If this is the case, I doubt you could fit SV6 cams in an omega...
