Can Anyone Post Pictures From Gregory's Manual For Vp How Replace Speed Sensor Section and could use a actually photo of speed sensor so i know what im looking for online can't be caught speeding

Speed sensor is on the side of the gearbox/transmission extension housing (the end of the gearbox where the drive shaft fits into the back of the box).

Replacing the VSS should be as simple as unplugging the sensor, removing the bolt securing it and then wiggling it out. It may be a firm fit as it has an O ring seal. Put a little transmission fluid on the new VSS O ring seal to help it fit easier. Also give the area a good clean before removing and ensure the housing is clean before fitting the new sensor.

That black plastic thing poking out the passenger side of the tranny.
Pretty much directly below the gear lever.
That's a V8 one but I expect a 6 cyl one is the same.

You don't even have to remove that part of it, in Circlotron's picture simply unplug the sensor and unscrew the outermost section.

ok thanks helps me heaps and can anyone give me a link where to buy a new not sure of one as i cant find it and the ones i do

cheers for all use helping me but i found the problem the speed sensor wasn't stuffed just the 3 wires on the plug were f**ked so i fixed them rewired so if anyone has the same problem check the 3 wires coming from speed sensor cheers
