Can I fit later higher spec HU to a VT with dead Single CD ?

Title says it all.

The Single CD HU has died with one of the kids CDs stuck inside. Still plays and radio works but only the same CD and no Ipod etc.

Can I just pop it out and plug in a HU from later model?

The 6 CD stacker version or one that will link an pod?

Don't want to spend a huge amount at this stage.

In sydney if you can point me in the right direction

I wouldnt bother. Just buy a JVC or the like. It would be cheaper and you would have a better unit

Yes you can fit a 6 disc stacker unit into your car. From factory you cannot control an ipod with any VY-VZ unit although you can modify it this way

Or you can FM modulate it 2 ways, through a broadcast method or a wired setup with the latter giving better sound quality
