CAN interface box on ve calais.

Hey guys and gals. I've just upgraded the head unit in my ve calais (alpine x800d-u) and one of the wires needs to be connected to the CAN interface box (wire 10 in the diagram). Does anyone know what this is and why the head unit would have this wire? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.

It would be to connect to other Alpine devices I'd say.

I've checked with alpine and this isn't the case. It's meant to go to a can interface box, I just don't know what that is lol. No car audio gurus on this forum?

Its for euro cars that display heater controls on the Alpine headunit display, as the OEM unit did the same. (VW, Audi etc)

Been awhile since I've installed a VE, pretty sure it doesn't need it. Tape it up with the other wire from the unit.
