Water pumps are cheap, about $80 for a new one.
Easy to replace as well, that way you flush and replace coolant in one go.
I'd be more inclined to change the thermostat like you said before i do anything else.

Yeha it's still happening. Car's still running hot and going down to normal within a few seconds..

If it gets too serious or if happens too often then I'll just change the thermostat, give the radiator a proper flush out and maybe even the water pump depending on how much it costs..

For the time being, I'm inclined to leave it though..

lol, i wouldnt just leave it be...your cooling system is as important as the oil in your motor...if it is overheating you are doing damage each time it does it..

Fair point, but it may not even be overheating though.. I think it might be just the sensor.. But yeah I might just flush out and replace the thermostat..

Wouldn't be a bad idea at all..

I'd also replace the sensor, i doubt they are expensive, but then again, a new mazda suit a 13b cost $50, but it can't hurt to get a price on one, wouldn't imagine it would be much for a holden.

another profile picture change shounak, how many ya got? lol. Shoot down to ya local mechanic and put radiator pressure tester on. Piece of mind bro, then ya know 4 sure if shes overheating, since ur on dual fuel my guess would be that ya might have a water leak, also if ya gunna change the coolant make sure ya put v6 coolant back in, anything else, ya might as well use green cordial, pm me if ya have dramas

Yeah, I'll def get a pressure test done.. I don't think there's a leak because my coolant level is fine.. And the concentration is perfect (judging by the colour of coolant)..

I'm using Repco V rated Coolant (which says it's fine for Commodores).. The guy at Repco said he uses it in his VT and is fine.. I've also put the pellets when I did my flush..

But I'll see how I go with the sensor, thermostat and coolant..

Cheers..

And hahahah.. This pic's homemade..

I had the dianostic settings on today. It went from 122 to 98 in about 10 seconds, whilst stationary..

Is it physically possible for the fans to cool it that fast?
