Car Wont Start

Hey people i need some help or advise, i own a 94 vr and it will only start when u lock than unlock the car but with only the remote but the battery in the remote is flat what should or could i do??

Have you got an aftermarket alarm in the car? If the battery is flat then buy a new one.

nah just stock an i cant buy one cos i cant start my car

Get a new key so you can at least get it around the place. Take it to an auto electrician because that's a bit complicated.

Adding this here in case in helps somebody else.

Symptoms were:
- Car wouldn't start
- Key wouldn't lock/unlock car/boot. No signs of life in key.
- Car would turn over sometimes, then stop within 1 second.
- ODO said "Serv Error"
- Red blinking security light wasn't blinking.

So, I called the RACV guy, and he tried all a few things, then said - "One last thing to try..".

He disconnected the battery then asked me to turn the key. While still turned, he connected the battery. The car started and all other symptoms disappeared. The key worked as normal again.

He said something about confusing the immobiliser, but I didn't get to see exactly what he did, as I was turning the key.

When you say you turned the key while he had the battery disconnected, did you turn it to start or to ignition ????

I turned it all the way to start. So, as soon as the battery was connected, the car started.
