Hi guys,
i've just quit my job today. i'm 20 years old, and a qualified mechanic. working with family and living with family and lot's of other things which all really relate to that became too much for both me and the family. i did enjoy my job other than that. i left school at 15, finished year nine with sensational result's in advanced math's, english, science, and all optional subject's i took, i was going to continue school and finish year 11, but my school wanted me as an academic representive, wouldn't give me the trade subjects i wanted and as a result i left.
i done my mechanical apprenticeship beneath my father, won an award each year for the 3 years training, and i'd like to think i'm quite switched on with cars. i dont think i want to persue that trade anymore though, i may come back to the family business in a few years - and if i'm not in the family business i dont have much of an interest in working in cars elsewhere and burning myself out with it.
i have a forklift licence, shooter's licence, medium rigid truck licence, tow truck experience, open motorbike licence, manual probiationary p2 car licence, i also have an automotive air conditioning qualification and licence etc. i have plenty of experience in electrical wiring and installation in automotive stuff. i've always loved electrics and wiring, but i don't want to do another apprenticeship considering i not long ago just finished one (2 - 2.5 years ago). i have a good history in sales, i have sold many cars at the family's car dealership. i can fit tyres, i have rebuilt shitloads of automatic transmission's (mainly commodore), basically i'm open to trying anything i have an interest in, i'm reliable, can easily work on my own, always on time, hygine and cleaniness is a big thing with me, but i dont care if i get dirty in a job like i have needed to as a mechanic. i work off the moral you won't get anywhere in life without having a real go and putting the hard work in. i've lived rurally all my life and i've learnt alot doing that, i'm not a silly city kid. i understand how business and making money works
basically i dont care where i need to move to in order to get a job - i'm not tied down in any way, shape or form. i'll be honest in saying i need really as much money as possible in a job (reason being, i have been building a tidy house deposit since i started working, but now i'll need more cause i wont be living at home, i'll have alot more cost's), but it needs to be something i'd have a resonable interest in. i realise my biggest mistake at this point was leaving school at yr9, most people probably won't even accept a resume from me i'm guessing.... i'm just looking for idea's of good jobs out there that might suit me? sorry for the rant, it's just i've never thought it would come to this. i've only ever had one other job which was a 2 week thing, once off high paid job just for an event, so i've never even had to write a resume!
thanks for your time
