If thats the only mod you ever plan on doing then go right ahead.
If youre planning on fitting extractors/high flow cats,otr/tune etc down the track then get a twin 3 inch,i wasted money getting a twin 2.5 then spent more money and then some replacing it all later.....
Go and have a read of street quicks project vf series of mods.

Old mate above is probably thinking you have a v8, 3 inch system is a massive overkill on a v6 even a worked one not to mention it will sound like ass

Unless you plan on making 600+ flywheel horsepower 3" is too big, that's V8 Supercar sizing. 2.5" systems that make less power than a 3" with a cam headers and tune isn't the pipe diameter, it'll be restrictive at the cats or mufflers. Not all 2.5" system designs flow the same, some are good and some aren't.

Tbh mate since you are in perth just go and have a chat to john at street quick and hell set you straight, hes a no bs kind of guy who knows alot.
I listened to some internet advice when i first got my vf and it cost me money......only to chase my tail($$$$$) and go along exactly with what street quick advise you do,i actually think someone on here pointed me towards street quick, hes a blunt and mostly grumpy old bloke but his knowledge is very sound.
