My car has just started to do the same thing, drivers door doesnt lock but all other doors do. Locks using the key though (just not the lock button).

yeah mine does the same Sirdystic....having to get the passenger to manual lock it everytime they lock the car...and having to reach over to unlock all the time gets annoying.

that's really strange because the drivers door controls the rest of em. anyway, the rear drivers door in my car hasn't worked for like 5 years or so, i've pulled it apart recently and everything seems fine. it must be something to do with the wiring??? any assistance would be greatly appreciated. cheers.

my rear door on a vr dont lock auto all the time, just manually....

once you got the plastic covers off the interior of the door
and check the wiring is ok

what do you have to do next to replace the lock actuator?
is it easy or hard to do?

just pop the actuator off and take it to whereever you want a new one or a second hand one then pop it back on and see how she goes.
not very hard
hardest part is getting the trim off

my cars rear doors dont werent opening or closing at one point. So i dead locked it and lifted up the locks since the stick there i thought it might do somthing. At the same time i disconnected the battery and then i turned it on went for a drive and then they worked. Give it a go, never had a prob after that.
