G'day,

Have developed further problems with my VR V8 Statesman and have no spark. (Placed timing light on No#1 and no flash!).

I have purchase a new cap, rotor, leads and cannot get it firing.

I have got a new distributor and am wanting to change it.

Question is, what is the best way to change the distributor, as far as access goes?

Is it best to jack the car right up and get you hand to the bolt or from the top of the engine and down?

Had a look at it today and do not know the best way to approach it....

Thanks

Jamie

Bump :)

Anyone suggest an idea?

I will need to tackle it tomorrow morning.

Cheers

i just had my dizzy out to change the hall effect sensor. I found the only way to get at it was from on top laying across the engine. Very tight fit but you don't need to remove the inlet manifold.

undo the gearbox mount and jack the back of the gear box up. it gives u more room to play with.

thats not a bad idea cause there isn't really a lot of room to move back there.

V8 Distributor.

Thanks guys for the responses.

End up being a crook coil.

Bought a new dizzy, but will now wait until it fails....

Coil was a bugger changing, but got it running no problem....

Cheers
