Did it give any error codes?
If not, just take it to Holden, might be a software fault somewhere!

Sometimes on start up mine does this if I actually wait for the system check sometimes it says check service or something and wont start. I turn the key off and on and it is fine to start again.

I will let you know what Holden says when I take it in.

Ive had it many times only in summer above say 35c and only with the aircon on!
It will play the tune and give the engine check symbol display and often will
stay on until you turn the engine off.
Now holden always give the line ahh its nothing to worry about its a software glitch.
My guess is the auto trans in my case is getting hot.
Triggering the sensor.

Yes, you see the thing is, when the warning lights comes on it's fine.

For example, if you put a hole in your sump [still a sore point atm].
You can drive for about 150 metres before the "Check Oil" light comes on. Thats when you switch your car off straight away to avoid damage!
Jump out and look at gaping hole in sump.
Curse a little bit.
When getting it onto a tow truck you need to put it in igntion stage, and self test starts, runs and says OK. Even with absolutly no oil because it's all over the road. After that its ready to go, but wont warn you again! As soon as you get an error like that you should pull over!

And just for future, your coolant temperature comes up with a different screen to Check Engine. It actually warns about the Coolant Temperature in the error message.

Auto tans oil temp via the raditor was what I am guessing can cause
the engine temp warning, been a while since i read the service manual but
I recall a couple of auto related error codes can give the engine temp light.
My engine temp guage stays between 1/4 and 1/2.

Had the car in for a service and got holden to check the error codes.
O2 sensor and they cleared the error.
Now at least I know what it is ,looks like a intermittent sensor.:yeah:
Have brought 2 new bosch sensors and when I have time will fit them.

Mine still comes on now and then engine check tune and then goes off in about 5 mintues.I dont think it's got to to do with the trans heating up as it does it when the cars cold to.Maybe cause i put it on lpg I dont know. What a O2 sensors mate and were can I find them in the engine bay to check them out and what causes them to go ??.Cheers

What causes them to go? AGE. Where are they. Look just after the headers on your exhaust and you'll see wires going into a little thing that sticks out of the exhaust pipe. Those are your O2 sensors. Basically they just tell the vehicle how rich or lean the fuel is that's going into the engine. It's basically the replacement for the Chokes.
