Welcome to Just Commodores, a site specifically designed for all people who share the same passion as yourself.
Yeah, the CAS is a common failure item on these cars and can cause crook running etc, also the 3 ignition coils and the DFI module that the coils sit on, are also common causes of crook running when they get old and start to die. When replacing these parts its best to stay away from the cheap aftermarket parts like cheap ignition coils or cheap engine sensors etc. The aftermarket ones are a lot cheaper, yeah sure, but they dont last as long, or perform as well as genuine parts.(especially with cheaper ignition coils)*long time reader, 1st time poster
mine runs like a tractor occasionally.....
it will just die, like when you run outta fuel in a carb fed car... but it never shuts down fully tho
has its moment, then kicks back in to life again like nothin happened.
replaced DFI, coils, leads, plugs, fuel pump and fuel filter...
still does it...
found this thread, and bridged the pins
only get code 12, every time
was thinking to wait til it tractors again and shut it down on the spot then test again?
im now thinking CAS, from what i have been reading, and by process of elimination
thoughts? reckon its the CAS?
