cigarette lighter to power neons

i am going to take out my cigarette lighter and use the power from that to power 5 small neons, i need to know if i need a fuse (i think theres already 1 on the ciruit?) and which wire is the postive and which is the earth, one is brown with a yellow line other is black, i know black is earth i just want to make sure lol

is there anything else i should know?

you need to undeerstand that without a switch the neons will come on and stay on the moment the car is switched on.

yer i forgot 2 say ill be putting a switch in the hole were the cig lighter was

It should already be fused, but make sure the fuse is rated to handle the demand on the circuit or you'll be replacing fuses all the time.

wat rating fuse should i use im gonna put 5 20cm 12v neons and im putting them in parallel, with a switch in the circuit

the original fuse will be fine but if you really wanted to change it over... 5amps.

I wouldnt keep the 5 amps fuse if ur gonna keep the cigar lighter... Does anyone have an idea of what kinda amperge neons draw i.e. 30cm 12v neon?

im not gonna keep the cigie lighter im taking that out and im gonna put a switch in that hole it leaves
