Hey all, I have 2 VF commodores in the immediate Family both with that (Fake?) suede finish, one Dark and one cream.

I am in charge of detailing them both (lucky me!)

Just wondering what you guys use to clean your suede trims as I'm looking for a product that will do it without wrecking it, Particularly the Cream

Currently use Autoglym interior shampoo on the Fabric / Carpet section. Wondering if it might be suitable.

Their leather cleaner specifically states not to be used on suede, but I'm guessing / Pretty sure it's not actual suede, but I'm guessing it's a no
Any tips would be great!

Thanks.

There's a cleanin product for faux or alcantra I think the material is called for those strips and panels. I forgot the exact product and spelling but google it and you will find it.

I used a microfibre cloth and warm water last time. It worked pretty well.
You just need to use a bit of elbow.

G'day Majere77; I used the Coles Comfy Bots unscented baby wipes (white and blue package) when I had the Calais. Worked a treat.

Another reason I didn't want a series one........that suede does look hard to clean.

Don't use leather products on suede, something like mpower suggested is good.

In my opinion if it is fairly clean then a very light spray of water from a spray bottle, then softly agitate with a soft brush to bring up the fibres and wipe it dry with a microfibre towel works well.
Avoid anything that lints as it will stick to the suede. Don't be harsh or scrub it as it will wear it out, don't use too much water or cleaning products. Less is more with this stuff.
