Just finished putting my first coat of clear on and thought .... WTF
Its gone all cloudy/milky in the center of the panel (Bonnet)

It soon clicked, that I must be spraying in too cold/humit weather.

Can I save my bonnet or will I have to strip it all again?

I am using basecoat/clear coat. Spraying in Acrylic.

Can I just scuff it up with a scotchy?
Or sand it with 400/800 then redo the clear?

Or will I have to redo the base.....

Help a paint noob out!

Just to confirm what im doing here;

Just sand/scuff the clear coat I have put on and reclear?

Obviously do not sand too far and hit the base coat, otherwise all is lost....?

It's happened to me before with acrylic. Cold/humid weather seems to be the problem.... Not sure whether the base would've been effected though. Somebody here will know

you will need to sand with 4-600 wet until all the blushing clear has gone.you will most likely have to do another coat of base.just the wrong weather to be spraying acrylic

Get some retarder into the clear to slow it down.

reclearing may not correct the cloudiness. id say your going to have to recolor it as well. when in doubt most paint products will have a recommended spraying temperature on the side of it. i normally dont paint with temps below 21 degrees just to be safe. if you paint in the shed often its a good idea to get a pot belly stove for those chilly days.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I sanded as much a I could out with 800 wet then recleared.

Very slight cloudiness where I should have sanded a bit more but I am pretty sure a cut and buff will fix it.

I also used a gas heater to warm the shed.

Random question, can acrylic clear/primer fillers expire? General idea I've come up with is as long as the tin is sealed it should be fine. Worst case give it a mix and good to go. Is this correct
?
