Hey my airbag lights been on for about 5 years (I knew the previous owner) and they passed everytime last year when I did my pinks he checked the car and when I went back to get it cleared he noticed the light that time but couldn't add it by law because he missed it the first time.

Is this a simple fix? // how much am I looking at (Central coast region)

you need to get it scanned to find out why
could just need a reset =minimal cost
could require clockspring $300
could be anything else

I was quoted 80 dollars for the clockspring when it was brought up at rego last time.
They said that it was the cause of the matter.

Is there a way to know for sure, don't want to pay for the reset then have to pay for the clockspring haha.

He was gonna chuck in a used one I believe and I have a fairly good memory for numbers so it was definitely $80 for that. Whether or not that was labour as well may be the difference.

I appreciate your insight though Mr.Lout, you're always a great help! and probably worth putting a genuine one in anyway :3
P.S. is it hard to D.I.Y it's one thing I didn't want to touch, I did my LIM gaskets with your help and I've done engine mounts and all that, but I don't want to fiddle with the clock spring myself because it's so close to the airbag and all :S

Disconnect the battery before removing the airbag and you shouldn't have any problems. It an easy job. You will still need to have the warning light reset though.

Just scared I'll somehow mess something up and I'll hook it all up then my airbag will deploy randomly in my face while driving hahahaha
Thanks for the advice :)

Hey mate, m8rkus hasn't logged on for a couple of years. Someone else might chime in. Did you look at similar threads at the bottom of the page. Good luck.
