code 42??

hey, engine light has come on in vr v6 checked codes and found code 42, bypass circuit failure what does it mean?

EST bypass which tells it to alter timing youll find you are locked at 10 degrees timing most likely DFI under the coils or a bad connection an the plug/broken wire
